Port Key or Handle for an Inter-dimensional Novel Question

man in dimensionIn an inter-dimensional novel, can a port key or handle to move from one place/dimension to another be a particular colored object?  In my new novel, Norman in the Painting, I’m stuck on what makes Norman disappear and reappear. I’d like to use specific colors.

Any suggestions?

I would use precious or semi-precious stones such as Topaz.

  2. Gary Lea

I would say that would be fine but the color should work in conjunction with something else. Colors are vibrations on a particular scale so the color you want could work in conjunction with a sound vibration that creates just the right harmonic to move him where he wants to go.

I like what Gary Lea says! My take (very novice level) is that there is no set thing that limits your writing, other than your story development! Colors are so much more than just the perception we have of them. Go with it!

    • Thanks, Silver linings, for your encouragement and I agree that colors are more, much more than our perception of them. I believe they have a strong vibration that makes them alive in a way we don’t understand yet. Nice to hear from you.

  4. I love the photo you attached if that is the art for the cover, The use of violet hues is impactful. I am in complete agreement about the use of colors and the messages conveyed. Deep purple, ultra- violet is already associated with a high intensity of light, which produces a faster, higher level of intense results.

    • Hi Jan,

It’s not the cover for the book, but would make a nice one. I’m not anywhere near thinking about the cover yet. At Chapter Seven where I am now, I’m not sure how it will all turn out. Thanks for stopping by and reading my post.
