Consistency and Contrast in Hada’s Character

Hada's Fog

Hada’s Fog

The next scene of Hada’s Fog is posted today (click on Hada’s Fog on the menu above). Chapter Six is Lev’s point of view and here he remembers how morose Hada became when Samuel left New Jersey to live and work in California. After she begged to visit Samuel on the west coast, she returned with a different attitude. One visit and she no longer cared that her first-born lived on the other side of the United States. What caused the sudden change?

As writers we know characters need to be consistent, which makes them more believable. However, a change in attitude or a contrasting reaction can occur and in this case, it’s a minor mystery why. It occurred to Lev in retrospect, but he doesn’t dwell on it. He is distracted by Abe’s problems. lawsuit word n gavel over money
