I’m pleased to be a contributor to The Community Book Project: 20/20 Vision, lead editor, Donna Kozik.
It’s a collection of inspiring essays and stories categorized in five parts: Introduction, Past, Present, Future, and Gratitude.
I have four 200-word essays in it.
“Teaching Cows” is my introduction piece. It tells about my growing up on a farm.
“What do you want to be?” In the past, girls’ aspirations often were limited to teacher, nurse, or secretary.
“Mothers & Daughters” Three days after my mother’s passing, I went to hear Hilary Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea, talk about how they collaborated on writing The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience. I experienced an archetypal whirlwind while there.
“The Perfect Dinner Party for My Mom.” the invitations included all my mom’s favorite people and animals. This essay won an award.
